  • How do I book / register for classes?
    You can book for classes here.
  • How many students will there be in a class?
    We open our classes to only 5 students at a time. We track how many students are coming by the 'space' when you are booking - space 1, space 2, space 3, space 4, space 5. For example: If you see 3 of these left when booking, this means that there are 3 empty space that can be booked. To book for 3 people, you can let us know in the 'message section' when checking out.
  • Is there a group discount?
    No, there is no group discount. Thank you for your understanding.
  • How do I check the class schedule / availability?
    You can check for availability in the calendar after you have picked a lesson here. Our class hours are as below: Hand building: Saturday: 10am-1pm Tuesday: 10am-1pm Thursday: 10am-1pm ​ Pottery wheel: Saturday: 2pm-5pm Sunday: 10am-1pm Wednesday: 10am-1pm Friday: 10am-1pm
  • What should I bring/wear?
    What to bring? Please bring your own drinking water. What to wear? Clothes: Comfortable wear is recommended Shoes: Pottery clay is very easy to get off with just water but shoes that you do not mind getting dirty is recommended. It is okay to wear slippers. Accessories: All hanging accessories must be removed when working on the wheel to avoid them getting caught in the clay. Hair: Long hair must be tied into a bun while working on the wheel to avoid hair getting caught in the clay.
  • Are materials included?
    You can use as much clay as you want in class, there is no limit. However, if you are firing your work to bring home, we charge RM35/kg for firing + glazing fee. You can choose which piece to fire and which not, we will weigh your works sent for firing. You will have to come back in around 3 weeks to glaze your work and in another 3 weeks to collect your final artwork. An email will be sent to you on when you are to do these, please provide us with an active email address.
  • How many pieces will I be making in the class?
    You can make as many pieces as you want in each 3 hours class. However, please note that firing fee is charged separately at RM35/kg. Do let us know which pieces you would want to fire and which pieces you do not.
  • Can I bring my work home immediately after class?
    No. Pottery clay needs to be fired twice for it to be an end product. If you plan to fire your work to bring home, please come back in around 3 weeks to glaze (colour) your work and in another 3 weeks to collect your end product. We will send you an email on when to glaze and to collect your work, please provide us with an active email address. *Please note that firing is charged at RM35/kg.
  • I have booked a class online, how do I pay for it?
    1. You can pay in person after class using cash or QR pay. OR 2. You can transfer the amount to the following account before class: 193 0000 1126 Hong Leong Bank Cheah Yeow Seng Please email us the receipt at mytouchofclay@gmail.com if you do. Thank you!
  • Do you do private workshops?
    Yes, we do! Please contact +60 17-881 2265 (Mr Cheah) to discuss further.
  • Are they food-safe?
    All of A Touch of Clay's work is food-safe unless specified otherwise. All of our works are made using high-fired stoneware clay. All works are tested for vitrification to ensure no water seeps and leaks.
  • Shipping fee
    Purchases under RM100: RM10 Purchases above RM100: RM12 Free shipping for purchases above RM180
  • How long does delivery takes?
    We ship on weekdays, you will be sent a tracking code once we ship your item(s) out. Delivery takes 3-5 business days after parcel(s) is shipped.
  • Can I pick up my purchase(s) at the studio?
    Absolutely! An email will be sent to you when your purchase(s) is ready for collection. Please collect your purchase(s) within 3 days time. Store pickup is available during our business hours. MONDAY: CLOSED TUES- FRI: 10am - 5pm SATURDAY: 10am - 5pm SUNDAY: 10am - 5pm For address, search for 'Touch of Clay Segambut' on Waze or Google Map.
  • Return & refund policy
    All sales are final. Strictly no returns and refunds. Every item is handmade and one of a kind. They are different from mass produced ceramic wares which are uniform throughout. Please expect that occasionally there will be some 'perfect imperfections', they give handmade pottery pieces character!
  • What if my item arrived broken?
    In the event where your item arrived broken, please immediately send pictures to mytouchofclay@gmail.com. We can further discuss on how to proceed from there.
  • Packaging
    We aim to practice sustainability and to reduce waste when it comes to our packaging. Worry not, getting your purchase(s) to you safely is our utmost priority. The box that your item(s) arrive with may have other company's logo on it. We will also use recycled material to cushion the pottery pieces. We thank you in helping us be environmentally friendly!
